Frequently Asked Questions

You can generate square, hexagonal, and triangular grids. Each type has specific advantages: hexagonal for neighborhood analysis, square for raster compatibility, and triangular for elevation models.

Draw a polygon on the interactive map or upload a Shapefile/GeoJSON file with your area of interest. The grid will only be generated within those boundaries.

Export as GeoJSON (for web use), KML (for Google Earth), CSV with coordinates, or Shapefile (uncompressed). All formats include cell ID attributes.
