Reproject — Change Coordinate System

Transform your layer to any CRS / EPSG online
How to use this tool?
  • Upload a Shapefile (ZIP or individual files), GeoJSON, or KML.
  • Enter the EPSG code of the target coordinate system (e.g. 4326, 32618, 9377).
  • Download the resulting reprojected file.
Examples of common EPSG codes:
4326 — WGS84 (Google Maps)  3857 — Web Mercator  9377 — MAGNA-SIRGAS / CTRF (Colombia)  32618 — UTM Zone 18N
Look up your EPSG at epsg.io. The system automatically detects the source CRS.
Select Geographic File
Supported formats: Shapefile (.shp + .shx + .dbf), GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, GeoPackage (.gpkg), GML, GPX, GeoParquet (.parquet), FlatGeobuf (.fgb), TopoJSON, ZIP with Shapefiles
For shapefile: hold down Ctrl and select ALL the files with the same name.
Enter the EPSG code or the name of the coordinate system. 6,500+ CRS available.

What is a CRS?

The Coordinate Reference System (CRS) defines how spatial data relates to the Earth's surface. Different projections are suitable for different purposes and regions.

  • WGS84 (EPSG:4326) — GPS standard, Google Maps
  • Web Mercator (EPSG:3857) — web maps (Leaflet, OpenLayers)
  • UTM — precise distance/area measurements

Frequently Asked Questions

Reprojection transforms a layer's geographic coordinates from one reference system to another. It's essential when you need to combine layers with different CRS or perform analyses that require precise metric units.

It depends on your region and purpose. For web mapping use EPSG:3857. For Colombia, use EPSG:9377 (MAGNA-SIRGAS). For small areas with metric precision, use the corresponding UTM zone. You can search at epsg.io.

Shapefile (ZIP or individual files: .shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj, .cpg), GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, GPX, GML, GeoPackage (.gpkg), GeoParquet (.parquet), FlatGeobuf (.fgb), and TopoJSON. The output can be Shapefile ZIP or GeoJSON.
