Frequently Asked Questions

The Union tool supports Shapefile (ZIP or individual files: .shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj, .cpg), GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, GPX, GML, GeoPackage (.gpkg), GeoParquet (.parquet), FlatGeobuf (.fgb), and TopoJSON. For best results, we recommend using the same format for all input files, although the tool can handle mixed formats.

By default, all attributes from the original layers are kept in the resulting layer. If there are fields with the same name but different data types, the tool will try to make the best possible conversion or create unique fields to avoid conflicts.

No, all layers must have the same geometry type (points, lines, or polygons). If you need to combine different geometry types, consider using specialized tools or first converting the geometries to the same type.

The standard limit is 100MB per individual file. For larger files, consider splitting the data into smaller files or contacting support for enterprise options.
